Spring 2010

Yep, it's been a while between posts both here and over at Modern In Maroondah.
Things have been happening. Life has been happening. Mostly good things, which is a nice change. I've become aware of my demons and I'm dealing with them bit by bit.
Crafting has taken a break. I wasn't enjoying it anymore- it was becoming a chore. I felt like I was always trying to prove myself, but to whom I don't know. I think the online crafting community was beginning to have a detrimental effect on my sub conscience. I saw too many wonderful things and I lost my way.
I've given up the markets to focus on my family.
I love spending time with my girls and I particularly love the rare occurrence of the whole family together on the weekends. D-man has been working ridiculous hours and we need to take every opportunity that comes our way to just hang out at home or go for a drive.
I've put down the pens and paintbrushes for a while and have ventured outside to get my hands dirty in the garden and my muscles aching with some serious physical labour around the house. Rather than wait for D to do all of the heavy landscaping, I'm giving it a go. It may not be perfect, but the satisfaction of a finished project outweighs the imperfections.
My health is good even if some of the joints need work. My mental health is good- but that's an ongoing project. I'm beginning to see where the problems lie and how food has played a role in my ups and downs.
I'm going on a holiday. No kids, no partner. To another country. Whoot!

I told myself I'd get my s**t together this year. It's taken 10 months, but it's a start!

I felt good reading this, reading about how you have taken charge of stuff in your life and working away positively at it all. Good for you!

Look at the size of that tree! Family weekends are great :-) We love just going out randomly for a picnic or a drive.

Its so nice to hear that good things are happening - live can get so complicated, but it is always good to hear that through the ups and downs there is a trend towards the ups! : )
